Shamballa Bracelets – these bracelets seem to be cropping up in a couple of trendy UK boutiques, , I was astonished at the prices some people charge, but as it happens, if you get the ‘better quaility ones’ then thats how much they really are!!!! However they really are beautiful and Unisex…and when i have seen other people in them i glance at them with *need*… However as much as i loved them wasnt sure they would fit in to Sparklefairys niche… so thought i would do more research… On the surface, Shamballa bracelets just appeared to be the latest ”trendy’ bracelet which doesn’t get them in sparklefairys boutique.
Well as it happens, they have roots in ancient Hindu, yoga and Tibetan meditation disciplines. The original designer wanted to combine his spiritual beliefs with his love of jewellery design and came up with the Shamballa bracelet. He wanted to combine both the male energy and female energy, with the energy of the universe in a symbolic way. The design he came up with uses glittering balls which represent stars, which represent female, lunar energy with hematite balls which represent Earthy, male energy. Both of these balls are then knotted together (macrame) together with cord, the cord represents the universe they both travel in. The binding then forms a circle, with each element separate from, but dependent on the other, to create a ‘whole’ and keep the energies in balance.
