How do crystals work?

All crystals have a vibration and charge. Crystals have been around for billions of years. They have been used in technology such as in computers, watches and televisions. In fact, we would not have technology without the use of crystals and their energetic properties. We also have an electrical charge since we are basically liquid crystal. Our teeth, bone, blood and tissues are all formed from minerals, some forming solid structures, and some dissolved in liquid.All living (and ‘non-living’) things vibrate to certain frequencies. Atoms are in constant motion, so this idea is fact. Crystals have a pure energy due to their regulatory lattice structure. When we are out of balance the crystals pure vibration changes our  vibration, and bring the imbalance closer to harmony. It is therefore important that you use the most appropriate crystal for your needs as the vibrations may change your state in ways you do not need. For example, wearing the crystal hematite for long periods (more than two days at a time) can distort and cause stress in your energy field.

How do I know which crystal is for me?

Usually it’s the first crystal you pick up or the one you are drawn to. If still unsure you can email me for a mini consultation . Alternatively you can look through this website leaflet and choose one yourself!

How do I cleanse my crystals?

There is always little confusion on this, but intention is the key aspect here. Crystals like a bath, place them in a nice bowl of mineral water over night or for a few hours. Another method is smudging or running incense smoke through them, or sage smoke.. a very quick simple way is easy-just hold a thought that you are “cleansing them” and visualize white light flooding through.  A tub of salt and salt water is an option I avoid as the softer crystals will disintegrate or fade. However if you know a lot about geology then salt water is also just as effective for a cleansing tool! Also a few drops of Serapis Bay Pomander is another great cleansing method.

What do I do with my Crystals?

Wearing crystal jewellery is an easy way to benefit from the crystals healing properties. (crystal jewellery available at at my FOLKSY SHOP) Also carrying tumblestones around with you, in a small pouch is also another nice way to have the crystals with you, some crystals fit nicely in our pockets too. Rubbing the crystal with your fingers is very soothing. Twiddling with a crystal anytime is also beneficial. Sleeping with your crystal under the pillow is a very peaceful way to connect to your crystal too as is placing it on certain body parts while you relax helps the vibration of the crystal go to work. Lots of simple ways to benefit from Crystals, just to  have it with you!

How to take care of your crystal jewellery

To ensure that your special crystal jewellery remains clean and energised as you received it please follow the advice below on how to take care of it:

Everyday Use and Care:

My  crystal jewellery is fairly durable as i have tried and tested it!… But extra care has to be taken to maintain its beauty. Remove jewellery before doing any housework  -  household cleaners are corrosive and may permanently damage your crystals. Remove jewellery before swimming or showering  -  chlorine and some soaps may cause damage to the crystals. Only put on your jewellery after perfume and/or hair care products have dried  – as products like this may cause damage to the crystals.

Store in a dark place, out of direct sunlight, in a pouch or box (provided)  -  sunlight can cause fading of the crystals  and the humidity in the air can cause tarnishing to silver.

Cleaning

To ensure that the silver is kept shiny it can be polished gently with a jewellery cloth.  Avoid any  harsh polishes and tarnish removers as these will damage the surface of the crystal and silver.

A soft cloth can be used to wipe over all your crystals.  Most crystals are more sensitive to getting wet than others, so it is always advisable to keep them as dry as possible.
